On Online Support Forums...

Beginning Life, in particular, has turned out to be quite damaging to me. I was booted from there and I have no idea why, and the people within that I have spoken to about it have no idea why either, and this includes at least one moderator. It used to be such a wonderful site, and I had been proud to call many of the people there equivalent to family, so close seemed the bond. In recent months, though, the place has gone downhill, with blatant favouritism and immunity being given to certain individuals known for caustic, unsupportive posts. I saw so many good people get driven away by these individuals, or given the boot for standing up to them, more than likely what I did, (not that the people I have spoken to can find anything they think objectionable). But I guess you really do find out who your friends are…not one of this so-called ‘family’ would stand up for me when I was kicked out. I was not even given the common courtesy of being told their reasoning, and, instead, have faced a wall of silence. This, by itself, speaks volumes, and suggests the place is being run more as a private club rather than a place of support. I can no longer recommend this place to anyone, and, in fact, I would suggest that anyone seeking online support stay away from this cliquish site. My final experiences there lie somewhere between being beaten up by a bunch of schoolyard bullies and a bereavement, with all the triggers that follow, and all I seem to be told about it is ‘get over it already’. Get to know me via e-mail or whatever and I can take you to a much more supportive place.
